design your own excursion

I can create a trip just for your party (two to six) with your choice of dates. Spring is when I’m usually in Italy; other dates may be possible on request. Book early for best availability. Choose one of the itineraries – if you have trouble deciding I’ll try to work out a combination. Tell me how many days you’d like (normally five to eight), how ambitious you are as walkers, and what kind of lodging you prefer.

The typical lodging I offer is charming – restored monasteries, family B&Bs, village inns, etc. I strive for old-world ambience, or at least a friendly, traditional feel. Rooms tend to be modest in size and tastefully (not to say luxuriously) furnished. They are always clean and comfortable. But this is your trip – if you want modern, deluxe, rustic, thrifty, in town, out of town…let me know and I’ll try to arrange it. Available choices vary with location.

Splurges

For those who want to splurge a little, I can recommend some really extraordinary accommodations: Renaissance villas, elegantly restored monasteries and farmhouses, deluxe hotels with scenic terrace rooms, and more.

Budget travelers

Ways to cut costs include:

•  more economical lodging (still clean and comfortable)

•  "hub" excursions: longer stays in each town, with more loop walks

•  join a group by choosing one of the featured excursions

It’s up to you: give me an idea of what you have in mind and I’ll be happy to help organize it:
